I just decided to post here since nobody has posted since May. :) And I was wondering if any of you are participating in "40 Days of Purpose" this year? With your church, in a group, or own your own? My church is using it this year, and our Youth Group (where I am) and even the children are using it in an odd version. LoL. But so far, I really love it! It opens my eyes to a lot, and, I don't know. I just think it's a great book and everything. Let me know what you think?

25+ and still a virgin? [16 May 2005|12:33am]

kruszer
I'm being bad and cross posting this to a few forums, but I'm doing so in hopes that many people will take interest in this new community which I trust will benefit many.

http://www.livejournal.com/community/virgins_over_25/

This is a forum primarily for those of us over the age of 25 who have chosen premarital abstinence but are now finding ourselves in a minority among young and older adults. As most of our "true love waits" peers have married in their early twenties, we face a unique challenge as an unmarried adult in our late twenties, thirties, even forties.

Although this forum was designed with vigins in mind, I equally welcome those over 25 who have chosen second virginity and are living in abstinence; as well as anyone who is now married who was a virgin past the age of 25. (25 is the magic number, but if you're a bit younger and really want to join, let me know, I make a few exceptions.)

If you're an older virgin by choice and struggle at times with staying true to your commitment, this community is for you. My hope is that we can join together to support and encourage one another to stay on the road we've chosen and travelled on for so long.

So I have this friend from college and she thinks that God hates her. And the problem is, I can't seem to say anything to convince her otherwise... What do you say to a person who refuses to hear you?

I am having a real hard time with my Summer plans. Which include travel, and a job that I have been at for the past 6 summers. I recieve daily Bible verses via e-mail. I just checked mine for today. I get the NIV version. Todays was,

Proverbs 19:20-21.

Every day the bible verse is exactly what I need to hear.

a must read [16 Mar 2005|11:11am]

kerimatheson
I am reading the book "Jesus Freak" by DC Talk. It is a compilation of stories from around the world who have been either tortured or have died bedcause they have stood for being a follower of Christ. I am a Christian, and this book completely amazes me. It is a very inspiring book, and I encourage everyone to read it. The stories are very amazing. I bought it with the intention of reading a story a day - I have seen that as impossible - there is no way that I could JUST read one story a night. I am a third done the book and I bought it on Saturday.

Thank you and God Bless!

Thoughts... [21 Feb 2005|04:14pm]

My husband posed this thought to me the other day and I was wondering what you all thought of it.

In the Old Testament, it seems like the miracles that were done were on a much larger scale than in the New Testament. For instance, parting the Red Sea, plagues of Egypt. It seemed like the miracles were for the whole nation of Isreal more than just for individual person. In the New Testamet, you read about more individualized miracles. For instance, healing of the blind man, the woman with the issue of blood, salvation which is only something that can be done personally.

Of course, there were miracles in the OT for individuals like Daniel in the lion's Den. But in the New Testament you don't really read of any miracles on the national scale.

I don't know if I'm rambling here or not, but I was wondering if anyone had any insight about this? Also, how do you guys believe about miracles today. Do you think they really exist?
